To comprehend the divine light within us, we need to calm our body and mind. Everyone, in some form or another, worships the Supreme Father. Each religion has its own method of worship, but the primary goal of all is to focus on God. Most people participate in services at places of worship and remember the Supreme Father. The study of various religions and scriptures reveals that the path to finding God lies within ourselves. For this, we need to calm our body and mind.
We can experience God through meditation practice. This requires turning our attention inward. The Supreme Father is an ocean of bliss, consciousness, and love. We experience this when we sit in meditation and converse with God within ourselves. To practice meditation, we find a quiet place and sit comfortably, so we can remain still for a longer period. We close our eyes and concentrate our attention on the ‘third eye’ or ‘divine eye’ located between the eyebrows. To stabilize the mind, we chant the names of God.
To learn the art of meditation, a perfect guru is needed. A perfect guru is one who enables us to experience the light and sound of God within us. Only after receiving this experience can we begin our spiritual journey inward and explore the inner realms of God. Whenever we want to learn something new, we go to a teacher. Similarly, to master spiritual knowledge, we must go to the feet of a perfect guru. The divine light experience that the guru imparts cannot be obtained from any book or literature. We can find God through true love, contemplation, and meditation practice. Spending time in daily meditation helps us to know our true nature, the soul.
When we enter within, we realize that the light of God shines within us. We then understand that the divine light within us is also present in others, and we no longer see others as different from us. The external differences that separate humans gradually disappear from within us. We treat everyone with love and see the light of God within them. We respect all people, regardless of their external differences.
Contemplating God means loving everyone, showing kindness to all, and living a moral life that does not harm anyone. Love everyone as members of God’s one family and serve others selflessly. Let us love and contemplate God. Through meditation, we must seek the divine light within us. If we do this, we will surely find God within ourselves.
