When a child develops some maturity, they are guided towards the spiritual path according to the Vedic system. The essence behind this initiation is that a person should pray to the Supreme Being, saying, "O Lord, show me the right path. Whoever seeks a path will surely find it." It is stated in the Gayatri Mantra that after receiving this initiation according to the Vedic system, it is said that the person has attained a little maturity of the mind. The next stage is initiation according to the tantric system. This initiation occurs when someone is qualified to learn the mantra of the chosen deity and the guru mantra. Through initiation, a more developed individual emerges with a new personality. In reality, it is God alone who arranges for someone to receive initiation and the mantra.
That is why it is said that the guru is God and God is the guru. Those who are not connected to the path of spiritual practice are undeveloped beings. Although they have been given a human body, they are no better than animals. In that state, they should sincerely pray to God, saying, "O God, uplift us from this animality. Please show us the right path." After connecting with the path of spiritual practice, a person has to face challenges. It is not necessary that these obstacles come from those who appear to be opponents of the person. Family, friends, and relatives can also create obstacles. However, regardless of where they come from, one must fight against these obstacles. It is not appropriate to surrender to them. A true seeker confronts these obstacles courageously and continues to progress. Without a fight, there can be no victory, and without struggle, there can be no imagined success.
Now the question arises, who is suitable to fight in the battle? Only a hero can fight. One who rises above the level of animality becomes a hero or a champion. At this level, the Supreme Being is addressed as the hero of heroes. After attaining the mindset of a hero devotee, one can never tolerate sin and injustice, nor can they commit any offense or sin. Gradually, they become deities. When the time comes, a person becomes God. By stepping up from the level of the hero mindset, a person becomes a real deity and reaches the divine state. One whose conduct is always noble is called a divine or godlike person, like Shiva. Such an individual advances significantly on the path of development. One day they merge into the Supreme Being and become the Supreme Being themselves. Therefore, it is the duty of every seeker to propagate righteousness and walk the path of spirituality.
