Lord Rama gave Hanuman Ji the punishment of death!
This incident happened when Lord Rama had achieved victory over Lanka and had slain Ravana. Lord Rama had handed over the kingdom of Lanka to Vibhishana and returned to Ayodhya. Upon reaching Ayodhya, Lord Rama was crowned king, and he became the ruler. After becoming the king, once when the court was adjourned and Narad Muni asked Hanuman Ji to greet all the sages except Sage Vishwamitra, leaving him out. However, Narad Muni had falsely convinced Hanuman Ji not to greet Vishwamitra.
Following Narad Muni's advice, Hanuman Ji did not greet Sage Vishwamitra. However, this didn't affect Sage Vishwamitra. When Narad Muni saw that Vishwamitra was not bothered, he went to provoke the sage, which led him to go directly to Lord Rama and ask for Hanuman to be sentenced to death. As Lord Rama was Vishwamitra's disciple, he ordered Hanuman Ji to be killed with arrows, obeying his guru's command.
How did Hanuman Ji escape death punishment?
The next day, Hanuman Ji was brought before everyone for punishment. However, what astonished everyone was that the arrows did nothing to him because Hanuman Ji was continuously chanting Lord Rama's name.
Lord Rama had to follow his guru's words, and since the arrows had no effect on Hanuman Ji due to his constant chanting of Lord Rama's name, Lord Rama decided to use the Brahmastra. However, everyone present was amazed when Hanuman Ji's Ram mantra made even the powerful Brahmastra fail. Seeing this, Narad Muni went to Sage Vishwamitra, admitted his mistake, and stopped Hanuman Ji's trial by fire.
