One day, I was looking at pictures of the universe in an astronomy magazine. The images were incredible. My curiosity grew, and with the help of my astronomer friend, I began to look at the night sky through a telescope in the calm of the night. The view was astonishing. As I watched, I suddenly realized that the Satguru has also given us a telescope—knowledge.
Like a telescope, knowledge allows us to see the inner universe within us. Indeed, with the telescope of knowledge, we can quench the thirst of the heart. We can see the things that exist within us, which hold great allure. So why not grasp this telescope of knowledge and lose ourselves in the unseen wonders we can behold?
Once you connect with that beauty and your heart fills with joy, it will not be accidental. It will not be by chance. It is the complete and ultimate reality for every human being on this earth. When you experience that realization, nothing else matters. Time stops. Time no longer holds significance. At that moment, you feel content, and at that moment, you are at peace. And only then will your fundamental reality be fulfilled. Many times, it seems that what we desire in life is not what we need. You can call the same thing peace, happiness, liberation. You can also call it bliss; it doesn't matter. Why? Because they are different names for the same thing. When the heart is satisfied, there will be bliss. When the heart is satisfied, there will be peace.
What is the difference between darkness and light? In the dark, you cannot see. If you cannot see, you cannot avoid obstacles. The obstacles you collide with, all the obstacles that come your way, do not disappear with the sunrise. But you can see them and avoid them. Light does not remove obstacles; it illuminates them. Suppose I offer you an umbrella. I cannot stop the rain. But if you have an umbrella, it's not a problem. You will be protected from getting wet. Suppose I hand you a lamp so you can see and avoid the things you want to avoid. This is how knowledge works. That is why you need it.
When I spend time with that inner element, when I go within myself, I feel infinite. It is just a feeling. It is not a definition but an experience that can only be felt. I can say, "Yes, this is infinite," because I do not see its end. Every day, I dive into it. Every day, I delve deeper into it. Every day, I take what I need. Yet it feels like it will never end.
When I have entered it and am in its company, that is the true company my heart desires. That is the company that fills me with joy.
