My Basic Goal: From Religion to Responsibility

We need to understand that the source of all our problems is within us and if we want solutions, they are also within us, are not out anywhere. This is very important – the responsibility of who you are, what you are, and what you are not, should fall on you.

The problem is that if something small goes wrong in your life, then you think that someone else is responsible for your trouble. If something big goes wrong in your life then you think that God is responsible for it. You do not hold yourself responsible for anything. This is the time to change it. We need to understand that the source of all our problems lies within us and if we want solutions, they are also within us, not outside. This is very important - the responsibility of who you are, what you are, and what you are not, should fall on you. This is my basic goal: to move you from religion to responsibility.

Only when the world moves from religion to responsibility will human potential be fully unleashed; Otherwise, everyone has an excuse for the bullshit they've done, and generally, they have godly approval for every stupid thing they've done. The nature of human intelligence is such that if you do some stupid thing today your intelligence will bother you tonight - 'Why did I do this?' But you can get over it very easily, by getting approval from a scripture or from heaven. You can do silly things with great confidence - you don't have to look back. This has always been happening.

But now, human intelligence has become sharper than ever. In the history of humanity, more people are thinking for themselves than ever before. The way we are now, if God Himself comes and talks to you, if it is not rational, then you will not accept it. So, in many ways, heaven is collapsing. Right now it may be happening on an individual level, but gradually it will become a comprehensive thing.

I estimate that in the next 80-100 years, the present form of organized religion will fade away. In the past, when people were living in miserable conditions, heaven had meaning.Today we are living better than heaven, so people will say to you, 'I don't want to go to heaven. It is very good here.' But man's desire to experience something more will not go away.

People are trying to satisfy this basic aspiration by looking towards heaven, or outward, but not inward. Just 150 years ago, a large part of humanity in the world looked up, while a small part looked outward. it was that small part One who amassed wealth, built palaces and did many things in the world. But today, a large part of humanity is looking outwards instead of looking upwards. If you look outside for human happiness, we will tear the earth apart and destroy the very basis of our existence - that's what we're doing today. We like to call it by different names, such as environmental problems, force warming or climate change. All that is happening is that human beings are looking outwards in search of human happiness.

Our thinking of happiness has to turn inward. Human happiness will not come until man turns inward, because human experience is born from within. Once you realize this, yoga becomes very relevant as it uses techniques and tools of inner well-being for self-transformation. As human intelligence becomes more intense, you will see that in the next 25-30 years, yoga will become a common practice on earth, not an exception.
