Know what is your real identity!

Sanatan Dharma has given the name of Brahman to the consciousness of the universe. It is an omniscient consciousness that has always existed and will always exist. It never originated, so it will never end. If anything originates in space at one time, then it has to end at some other moment in space. Only Brahman does not fall in this realm because the concept of its origin predates the creation of time and space. It is the pure form of existence and consciousness – Sat and Chit. It is also called Harsh or Ananda.

Brahma is the basis of all the planets, stars and all life on earth in the universe. If Brahman does not exist then nothing will exist, because it is the basic form of existence of all. This is the purest form of consciousness and that is why we are able to know this world consciously. It is always full of joy and this is the reason why we are able to enjoy this world, despite the tribulations and distractions in our lives.Brahman is an all-pervading consciousness and we are part of this universe, so obviously it pervades all of us. So now the question arises: "Is there something in us in which all the components of Brahman are present?"

Before answering this question, we should know about the components that make up human life. When you ask someone to describe himself, he will immediately start describing his body, his height, weight, complexion, hair color, eyes, all these things in detail. This means that most people only consider their body as their identity. This little inquiry makes us realize how far we are from the concept that this body is made of flesh, bone, skin and blood. We are thoughtful beings. We have a brain which controls this body. We have something more than the brain which we call intellect or intellect and which has always been controlling the mind as well. If the intellect is well developed then it will start questioning itself. Hindu sages started looking at it from a different point of view, "It is true that I am consciousness, but at the same time it is also true that there is something in me which is the pure form of consciousness. Let me find that truth."

We are all aware of three states of consciousness – the waking state, the dream state and the state of deep sleep. Our experience of reality appears to be dramatic apart from these three states. The dream state does not remember the waking state and the sleep state cannot remember the other two states. It is strange that a dreamer is none other than a person who is awake in the state of sleep. She might say, "I had a very strange dream" and then "I slept well." So the question is, who is that 'I' who was in consciousness and was also a witness to the state of dream and sleep? She is also a witness to the waking state of 'I'. So who is this unchanging witness who has remembered the three changing stages that a person goes through? In Hinduism, this immutable, unchangeable and ever-present witness is called soul.

Introspection reveals that the soul possesses all the qualifications of Brahman such as pure existence, pure consciousness and bliss and therefore, it is nothing but the individual manifestation of Brahman born out of the declaration of the Upanishads. 'Tat tvam asi' which means 'that you are' and in which 'tum' is used to refer to the soul and 'that' to Brahman. All human suffering is born because it has forgotten its true nature and has started identifying itself with our mortal body, mind and intellect.

We are splitting our personalities and that's why we are not completely happy. Unless we find the source of where we have come from, there is no possibility of achieving that limit of infinite bliss. Infinite bliss can never be found in the ever-changing world. There is bound to be an end to all material pleasures or dualism is the nature of the world. Neither happiness nor sorrow can end forever. But we yearn for that happiness that lasts forever or lasts till the end, without realizing that it is absolutely impossible with this changing nature of the world. But the truth is that we are capable of imagining a state of ultimate bliss and that suggests that it is a state of which we are ignorant of the principle. It is because the stage on which we are pretending this life,He is the soul and who has existence, consciousness and bliss. Therefore this is the only way to recover the real state of bliss, the consciousness of the universe which exists in us as soul. It is a kind of introspection in which. We truly identify the 'I' as our own soul. Only by self-realization can one attain infinite bliss.
