If you're sad due to failure, then you must know about this incident of Lord Hanuman!

In the epic Ramayana, there is a fascinating incident described, according to which Lord Hanuman once forgot all his powers. When Hanuman met Lord Rama after the abduction of Sita by the demon king Ravana, even during that encounter, he didn't possess his powers. When Lord Rama asked Hanuman to go to Lanka and deliver his message to Sita, Hanuman expressed his inability to cross the ocean and reach Lanka. Hanuman had no realization at that moment of how powerful he was. For him, crossing the ocean was an impossible task. It was during that time that Jambavan, the wise bear, had a conversation with Hanuman and praised his qualities, reminding him of his immense powers. Hanuman soon recalled his ability to fly and his other powers and embarked on his journey to Lanka.

Why did Hanuman forget his powers?

When Hanuman was young, he received extraordinary powers from various deities and gods. Energetic and mischievous, young Hanuman began misusing those powers and troubling sages. Once, he mistook the sun for a fruit and swallowed it, causing darkness to envelop the entire Earth. Hanuman's mischief was increasing day by day. His powers became a source of trouble for others.

Similarly, on one occasion, the sages of the Angira and Bhringa clans were performing their meditations in a forest. Hanuman reached there and started causing mischief, disrupting the sages' penance. Enraged, the sages cursed young Hanuman that he would forget all his powers. When Hanuman's mother, Anjani, learned about this, she rushed to the sages. The sages assured her that when the need for Hanuman's powers arises in any situation, he will remember them and utilize them again. Jambavan's reminder made Hanuman recall his dormant powers, and he showcased his incredible abilities during Lord Rama's battle for justice. Those moments are still praised today.

Don't challenge your destiny

This story may seem ordinary at first, but imagine that Hanumanji, who is known for his powers, lived a long time without them. In our lives, even if we lose a small opportunity, we start questioning our fate. We wonder why something so bad happened to us. We fail to consider that many more opportunities will come in the future where we can prove our capabilities. We often forget that there must be a solid reason behind such situations, just as the incident of Hanuman forgetting his powers is not emphasized much because it is not significant. It doesn't affect Hanumanji's identity or glory, as there have been several instances afterward where his powers were meaningfully displayed and the world remembers only those moments.

Nothing happens without a reason; patiently wait for the right opportunity

Young Hanuman had become the possessor of power, but he didn't understand the essence of those powers. He misused them because he didn't have a proper purpose for utilizing them. He had obtained those powers effortlessly, without any effort on his part. If his powers had not been taken away, who knows how his ignorance and misuse would have led to catastrophic consequences. Sometimes, we desire something so much that we fail to realize the true value of the opportunity. We end up disturbing our inner peace in pursuit of that opportunity. We don't remember that many more chances will come in the future, where we can prove our capabilities. We should never forget that if something like that had happened, there must be a solid reason behind it. Just as in the case of Hanuman, his powers were not taken away permanently. They were temporarily forgotten until the need arose. The incident doesn't
