This is the 18th verse of the fourth chapter of Chanakya Niti. In this verse, Chanakya has explained that in order to achieve success in our endeavors, we should always consider these 6 things. By paying attention to these things while working, the chances of failure decrease significantly.
Knowledge of Current Affairs
Acharya Chanakya says that a wise and successful person is one who always knows the answer to this question. A wise person knows how the current time is progressing, whether it's days of joy or sorrow. Based on this, they work accordingly. If it's a time of joy, they should continue doing good deeds, and if it's a time of sorrow, they should maintain patience along with good deeds.
Identification of True Friends
We should know who our true friends are and who our enemies are in the guise of friends. We know our enemies and avoid them while working, but it's also very important to recognize the hidden enemies in the guise of friends. If we fail to recognize hidden enemies among friends, we will only encounter failure in our endeavors. We should also avoid such people. Also, pay attention to who true friends are, because success can only be achieved by taking the help of true friends. If we mistakenly seek help from a friend who is actually an enemy, all our efforts can go in vain.
Knowledge of Circumstances
We should know about the country where we work, the place, city, and how the circumstances are there. Considering these things while working will greatly reduce the chances of failure.
Income and Expenditure Calculation
A wise person is one who keeps track of their income and expenditure. A person should spend according to their income. Those who spend more than their income inevitably fall into trouble. Therefore, to achieve financial happiness, one should never spend more than their income. If we spend less than our income, then there is a possibility of accumulating wealth, even if it's little by little.
Understanding Boss's Expectations
We should pay attention to what our manager, company, organization, or boss wants from us. We should work exactly as required, which benefits the organization. If the organization benefits, the chances of employees benefiting also increase.
Knowledge of Capability
The last thing is the most important; we should know what we are capable of doing. We should only take on tasks that we have the ability to complete.
