Lord Shiva is the father of these 8 children, know who?

Lord Shiva is called Mahadev, the God of Gods. They all know that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati have two children, Ganesh and Karthikeya, But there is very little mention of other children of Lord Shiva? Let's know about the eight children of Lord Shiva ....

Lord Ganesha is the son of Shiva and mother Parvati. According to religious stories, many stories related to the birth of Ganesha are found in the Puranas. It is described somewhere that Ganesha was born mysteriously by Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. So it has been said in some legend that Ganesha was born from the filth that descended from the body of Mata Parvati.

The mythological history associated with Hinduism is very amazing in itself. According to legends, there was a time when the terror of an asura named Tarakasura was at its peak. He was becoming a panic for the Gods sitting in heaven. Tarakasura had the boon that only the offspring of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati could destroy him. Even the fire god was not able to bear the fire emanating from the flame of anger inside Shiva. Therefore, Ganga ji took this fire to Saravan Lake where a child with six faces was born. Mata Parvati combined these six heads and converted them into one head. He was raised by six Apsaras and hence he was named Karthikeya. Karthikeya later led the army of the gods and ended Tarakasura.

The Padma Purana also mentions Ashok Sundari, the daughter of Shiva. It is believed that Goddess Parvati wished for a daughter from the Kalpa tree to get rid of her loneliness and sadness, which led to the birth of a beautiful daughter. Therefore, he was named Ashok Sundari.

In Hindu mythology, Mansa Devi is also known as 'Nagini', or 'Vishahara'. She is said to be the daughter of sages Kashyapa and Kadru and sister of Vasuki. She is said to have been rejected by her father Shiva and husband Jagat.

Andhak - According to religious stories, it is said that once Lord Shiva was in meditation posture, then Goddess Parvati came from behind and closed the eyes of Lord Shiva with her hands. By doing this, there was darkness all over the world. As soon as the touch of Mother Parvati's hands touched Lord Shiva's body, similarly sweat droplets started falling from Lord Shiva's body. This led to the birth of a boy who was blind due to being born in the darkness. Therefore, he was named Andhak.

In Hindu mythology, Jalandhar has been called the king of Asuras. Jalandhar was a capable and powerful ruler. Under his leadership, the Asuras also defeated the Devas. He himself was not an asura, but the anger that came out of Shiva's third eye fell into the sea of fire from which Jalandhar was born. He was part of Shiva. According to the Padma Purana, the city of Jalandhar is named after him.

Ayyappa is the child of Mohini form of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. When the demon king Mahishasura was killed with deceit, his sister Mahishi did severe penance to seek revenge from the gods and pleased Brahma ji and asked for the boon of invincibility, but Brahma said that this is not possible. So Mahishi planned and asked for a boon that only the offspring of Shiva and Vishnu could kill him (both are male and there is no possibility of giving birth to anyone). The gods implanted Shiva and Vishnu to save them from the devastation, and Vishnu found a solution to the problem. Thus Mohini form of Lord Vishnu was reconciled to Lord Shiva and Ayyappa was born, which later ended the Mahishi.

  4. The father of Lord Shiva is Brahm (Kaal) and Mother of Lord Shiva is Goddess Durga. This evidence is present in Holy Puranas. Chapters Vidhveshwar Samhita, and Rudra Samhita in Shiv Purana give information about the Father of Lord Shiva.
